Growing up in Jakarta, Officer Andi Pratama(pseudonym) always understood the challenges of keeping a large city safe. When he joined the Indonesian National Police (INP), he found that passion paired with frustration: too much time spent on paperwork and outdated communications technology.

"We're in the 21st century,"
he says,
"yet we were still struggling with inefficient systems."

The vision

Indonesian National Police officers need a way to streamline incident reporting and response times. They require a more efficient way to gather evidence, receive dispatch communications, and track critical cases in the field.

Main feature

First launched in 2022, the INP app simplifies an officer's core duties. Incoming reports arrive on a visually clear dashboard with status filters, ensuring nothing is overlooked. On-site, officers easily incorporate photos, videos, sound recordings, and even citizen reports - ensuring details are preserved accurately.

"We took this as an opportunity," says Jez.
"The classic design instinct sometimes leans towards fancy interfaces, but in a high-stress, maybe poorly-lit situation, clean functionality wins."
